Play UK National Lottery Lotto Online from India

Buy a line in the UK National Lottery Lotto for £3.50, straight from India. Draws land every Wednesday and Saturday, and since June 2026 each line gets checked against two separate rounds instead of one — same price, two shots at winning. Pick your numbers, pick your draw days, and WeLoveLotto takes care of the rest.

How to Buy UK National Lottery Tickets Online from India

Buying a UK Lotto ticket from India isn't quite the same as popping into a shop in Manchester. Here's what actually happens, step by step.

Create and verify your account

You'll sign up with your name, date of birth, and a working email address. We have to confirm who you are before any winnings can be withdrawn. That means a government photo ID — PAN card, Aadhaar, or passport — and sometimes proof of address. Most accounts clear verification within a few hours.

Add funds

UPI, Netbanking, Visa, Mastercard, or one of our supported e-wallets — take your pick. Deposits usually show up in your wallet instantly, though your bank's own processing time can add a short delay.

Pick your numbers and your draw days

Choose six numbers from 1 to 59, or let Lucky Pick do it for you. Play a single draw, or set up a subscription that runs for several weeks so a Wednesday or Saturday never slips past you.

What happens to your ticket after you pay

Once you confirm and pay, WeLoveLotto buys the real UK National Lottery ticket on your behalf, ahead of the official cut-off. It's held in your name, stored in your WeLoveLotto account, and viewable any time you want to check it.

Getting your winnings

After each draw, your ticket is checked automatically against both rounds. Any winnings land in your WeLoveLotto wallet, usually within a few hours. From there you can withdraw to your linked bank account, subject to a minimum withdrawal amount and the usual verification checks.

UK Lotto's New Two-Round Format, Explained

Since 7 June 2026, UK Lotto plays differently than it used to. Ticket sales under the new two-round format opened on Sunday 7 June 2026, and the first draw under the new rules ran on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

Every line now goes into two separate rounds on the same draw night. Two full sets of six main numbers plus a Bonus Ball, pulled from two separate machines — one for Round 1, one for Round 2. Your ticket is checked against both, so a single line can win in Round 1, in Round 2, or in both.

That has a real effect on your odds. The chance of winning any prize on a line has gone from roughly 1 in 9.3 to roughly 1 in 4.9. The jackpot odds within a single round haven't moved — still 1 in 45,057,474. But because your line is entered into two rounds, your chance of a jackpot-tier match on any given draw night is roughly double what it was. The pool itself is shared across both rounds, so all Match 6 winners from Round 1 and Round 2 split the same pot. Allwyn, the operator, expects this to push UK Lotto from creating around 140 millionaires a year to something closer to 345.

Worth being upfront about the trade-off, though. To fund a second round without touching the ticket price, some of the lower prize tiers were trimmed at the same time the format changed. So yes, you're more likely to win something but a handful of the smaller fixed prizes now pay a bit less than they used to.

UK Lotto Prize Breakdown and Odds

Here's the full breakdown, per round. Because the game now runs two rounds a night, prizes are awarded per round — meaning a single ticket really can win twice on the same night, once in each round.

Match tier Prize (£) Prize (₹ approx.) Odds per round
Match 6 (Jackpot) From £2,000,000 From ₹25.8 crore approx. 1 in 45,057,474
Match 5 + Bonus £1,000,000 ₹12.9 crore approx. 1 in 7,509,579
Match 5 £1,000 ₹1.29 lakh approx. 1 in 144,415
Match 4 £50 ₹6,450 approx. 1 in 2,180
Match 3 £10 ₹1,290 approx. 1 in 97
Match 2 £1 ₹129 approx. 1 in 10

If your line matches in both Round 1 and Round 2, you get paid for both — not just the better of the two. The rupee figures above are indicative, based on the GBP-INR exchange rate at the time of writing. Rates update daily, and the exact converted amount for your prize is shown at checkout.

UK Lotto Ticket Price in India

A line costs £2 at the official rate, full stop. On WeLoveLotto, the ticket price is £3.50 and gets converted to rupees at the day's exchange rate, the small difference includes fee for buying and holding the ticket on your behalf in the UK. Because the rupee amount moves with the market, it's shown live on the ticket page rather than fixed here.

Lines Price (₹) With multi-draw discount
1 line ₹260 approx.
5 lines ₹1,290 approx.
10 lines ₹2,580 approx. Play 10, get 1 free

UK Lotto Draw Days and Draw Time in India (IST)

Draws happen every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:00pm UK time. Because the UK switches its clocks twice a year and India doesn't, the IST equivalent shifts depending on the season.

When the UK's on British Summer Time (late March to late October), that 8:00pm draw lands at 12:30am IST the next day. Once the UK falls back to Greenwich Mean Time (late October to late March), the same 8:00pm draw becomes 1:30am IST the following day, since the UK's then an hour further behind.

Ticket sales close in the UK shortly before each draw, so WeLoveLotto sets its own cut-off a bit earlier to leave time to place your order with the official operator. You'll see the exact IST cut-off on the ticket page for whichever draw you're entering, so there's never any guesswork about how long you've got left.

Latest UK National Lottery Results and Winning Numbers

Below are the most recent UK Lotto results, both rounds included, straight from the official draw. For the full archive and prize breakdowns from earlier draws, head to our complete UK Lotto results page.

UK Lotto Hot and Cold Numbers

These stats show which numbers have shown up most, which have barely shown up at all, which are "overdue" based on how long it's been since their last appearance, and which pairs tend to come up together. None of it changes your actual odds — every draw is random — but plenty of players still like a look before picking their line.

One thing worth flagging: since both rounds now count, frequency data from before June 2026 reflects a single round a night, while anything after includes two. So comparing pre- and post-June 2026 numbers side by side isn't quite apples to apples.

Must Be Won Draws and Rollovers

If nobody matches all six numbers in either round, the jackpot rolls over to the next draw — up to five times in a row. If it's still unclaimed after the fifth rollover, the sixth draw becomes a Must Be Won draw, meaning the jackpot has to go out one way or another.

On a Must Be Won draw, if there's still no Match 6 winner, the leftover jackpot money boosts the lower tiers instead. Every player matching two numbers gets £5 rather than the usual £1, and if there's still money left after that, it tops up the Match 3 prize too. Match 4, Match 5, and Match 5+Bonus stay fixed cash prizes and aren't affected.

What Is the National Lottery United Kingdom?

The National Lottery United Kingdom launched on 19 November 1994 and hasn't stopped since. Allwyn runs it under a licence from the UK Gambling Commission, which sets the rules for how the games operate and how prizes get paid out.

Beyond Lotto, the portfolio includes EuroMillions, Set For Life, Thunderball, Lotto HotPicks, EuroMillions HotPicks, and the newer UK Powerball. Each has its own price, rules, and draw schedule.

Lotto HotPicks

Lotto HotPicks rides on the same Lotto draw, but instead of picking six numbers, you pick between one and five and bet on an exact match. Since the two-round format launched, every £1 HotPicks line now enters both rounds too, with the fixed prize structure adjusted to reflect the extra round.

Playing the UK National Lottery from India

This is the part most players actually want answered, so here it is, no fluff.

Can Indian residents play the UK National Lottery?

Yes. There's nothing stopping Indian residents from buying UK Lotto tickets through a licensed ticket-purchasing service like WeLoveLotto. You're not buying direct from the National Lottery operator — you're using a service that buys and holds a genuine UK ticket for you.

Accepted payment methods in India

UPI, Netbanking, RuPay, Visa, Mastercard, or a supported e-wallet. Everything's processed in rupees, so no foreign currency account or international card needed.

Currency conversion and fees

Since the ticket's priced in pounds, your payment converts to rupees at that day's rate, plus a small service fee covering the cost of buying and safekeeping your ticket in the UK. That fee is shown clearly before you confirm.

Tax on UK lottery winnings for Indian residents

UK Lottery prizes are tax-free in the UK. Once winnings hit your WeLoveLotto wallet and you withdraw to India, they may count as income under Indian tax law. Rules around foreign winnings get complicated fast — talk to a tax professional about your specific situation rather than leaning on general guidance here.

State-level legality

Gambling and lottery laws in India sit at the state level and vary quite a bit. Some states are stricter than others about lottery-related activity. This isn't legal advice — if you're unsure how the rules apply where you live, check your state's regulations or speak to a legal professional before you play.
